Dogs Insurance-Insure Fido or Not?

I remember last year on December, the vet drop a bomb at my sister, when he told her that her beloved pet terrier, cancer treatment will cost her at least Australian dollars a whooping 12,000.00. Although my sister decided to go thru with it, but it did cause her to consider whether or not to save her dog's life?

With vet bills and the cost of medication spiraling now may be the time to get our dogs insured. Do we want to kick ourselves when something devastating happens because we haven't planned ahead financially? Sometimes I ask myself, when I spent a lot of money on fancy leashes and things, why don't I put away a small amount in case my dogs falls sick?

For about USD30.00 a month, you can get your dog insured, and covered also yearly vaccinations, preventative care, and annual checkups. I think that is real cool. Now I know it will help to offset the costs of healthcare and protect my wallet in case something catastrophic happens which I may not have the finances to pay.

According to the ASPCA, the first year of owning a dog can run up to US$1,580.00 inclusive of food, vet bills, a little toys and treats. Vets also agree that the first year of owning a puppy is usually the most expensive, so insurance does make sense here.
